Within the teak plantations under its management, BTF plants and manages additional faster growing crops which have a symbiotic relationship with the teak tree, such as, mainly, vanilla and cacao. Such highly priced and sought after additional crops provide an almost immediate (2 to 3 years from planting) cash-flow during the life of the teak farms, as required for the plantation’s management and improvements, with a surplus available for distribution (all depending on market prices, which may vary significantly from year to year, and even from season to season)
